Clean and Green Service Day

The City of Chicago’s Department of Streets and Sanitation will provide local volunteers with the tools and resources necessary to get out and clean up their communities. Occurring at the various local ward offices, this event is part of a city-wide effort that is aimed at beautifying the city. This program has occurred every year for the past several years. Green Festival showcases more than 350 diverse green businesses selling eco-friendly, fair trade and sustainable products. More than 150 visionary speakers appear for standing-room-only panel discussions, presentations and speaking events. You’ll also enjoy great how-to workshops, green films, a fair trade pavilion, yoga and movement classes, kids’ zone, organic cuisine, and live music. A special thanks to the City of Chicago Department of Environment for their support in bringing Green Festival to the Midwest. Find the green thumb in your little one with this free hands-on seed planting class. Each student will learn how to take care of their own herb garden and the benefits of growing locally.
